So never think being Chromium/Blink is actually a "problem" it is a plus.
So, 'monopoly' is just what people wanted and some excuse by some to make money off lawsuits and pretend they care about something.
Of course it's stupid to think governments BS then will get in the middle, even if most people who have spoken what they want by choosing to use whatever browser they want. They probably wouldn't like it even if It will be beneficial for Mozilla, since they would be able to offer more instead of just trying to catch up to what Chromium is doing, just like Microsoft realized.
I mean, what if Firefox switched to blink like many have suggested for years? It doesn't mean they should use a Chromium browser, Firefox offers a lot of things, but they go to extremes. In a matter of 1 year, Firefox lost like 10 million users and that's not because of 'monopoly' boogeyman.īut that's the only only reason they give you ' to avoid Chromium', not if it is good or bad, or if it works for you or not, they don't see beyond their same narrative only because "what if Chromium Google controls the web" (like if they didn't already do) so they feel forced to support Firefox and be vocal about it, like waving the flag of virtue signaling, because they are supporting 'the good cause' they believe, they either want to ignore the truth or are to stubborn to see it. The ones saying Chromium is a problem is because they got blinded by fanboyism, the only thing they see in the head is 'monopoly' 'google' excuse, like if that mattered, if it works it works, and the people and developers have spoken what they wanted, most have choosen Chromium, and more and more since Firefox keeps losing marketshare every year. But I use brave as it's significantly faster than Firefox or librewolf for me in my experience. At the end of the day you should just try out both. But if you want speed and good enough privacy out of the box without fussing over extensions then Brave. Tbh if you want safe browsing and more privacy focused extensions then Firefox. I see on other subreddits that the main argument is Google monopolising in every product and everyone should switch to Firefox to prevent this lol. I don't like it but I have no reason to distrust them simply for offering it.Īs for chromium Vs Firefox the whole thing is basically some justice battle. Basically as long as you tweak the settings in both browsers for privacy then they both basically are very private and great choices. There's a comparison table but I forgot the website. But between those 2 they're both very private and great.
